Gift Registries

We've registered for gifts at the following places:

Bed, Bath, and Beyond

Anne tells me that "Beyond" basically means "Kitchen." I know that there are other guys who were wondering the same thing, so I thought I'd throw that out there. FYI, "Beyond" definitely does not mean "DVD players, stereos, video game systems, and other cool electronics." Just so you know...

One other note: when you're doing your registry at BBB, if you stay long enough, they give you a free soda.

Dillard's

We registered for "everyday" dishes and flatware at Dillard's. I never knew that I had opinions about flatware until we started looking at it. It turns out, to me, it really all comes down to the spoon and the knife. There has to be a spoon in the set that is properly sized for cereal in the morning -- not too big, not too small. And the knife has to have some heft to it. Those opinions were latent in my mind for years and years and only revealed themselves to me when I was standing in the aisle of a department store. It all seems so obvious, now. Huh.

Crate and Barrel

Crate and Barrel has a pretty large assortment of glassware. Their wine glasses go up to 22 ounces for your basic white wine glass. Now, I worked in restaurants for years so I understand needing a larger glass for a full-bodied red -- they need room for swirling so they can breath and really show their stuff. But a 22 ounce white wine glass? That's just nuts. At that size it should come with a straw, a lid and have "Big Gulp" etched on the side.
