Groomsmen
My groomsmen consist of a select group of friends and family that have had a large impact on who I am today. The list includes:
John Kennedy
My big brother John! He was always there for me when we were young (though he sometimes kicked me over in my playpen, used me in electrical experiments, and showed me how to smoke my first cigar when I was three). I'll always be grateful that he was there to show me the ropes and blaze a trail for me. I'm really glad he can be standing up with me on my wedding day.
Jay Mathy
I met Jay when I moved to Newark, Ohio in the 5th grade. We lived in the same neighborhood and had many Huck Finn/Tom Sawyer adventures together while growing up. Jay is a one-of-a-kind and my life would have been a lot less interesting without having him around.
Trent Jones
I met Trent in the 8th grade and we've been fast friends ever since. Our outlook on life has always been on a similar wavelength -- we don't sweat the details, we look on the bright side of things, and we know how to have a good time. We both understand that life is just a tire swing. Trent lives in Safety Harbor, Florida with his wife, Becky, and their dog Skipper.
Jay, Trent, and I have been great friends for a long, long time. I feel really lucky to be able to maintain those friendships throughout the years, and I look forward to many more years of annoying our wives with the same old stories from high school and the recitation of the same old lines from marginal movies, ad infinitum.
Tom Wallin
Tom is Anne's older brother. A Peace Corps alumni, he's now in medical school in San Francisco, California. I think he and Anne have a pretty cool relationship, much more than just your typical sibling association. Two interesting facts about Tom: he has competed in (and finished) a Triathalon, and he made a pretty convincing mummy one halloween when he was nine (I know because there's a pretty funny picture of it sitting on our bookshelf
).
